We’re not exactly spoiled with crustcore from Norway, and so I’m glad to see there are some brave souls up there willing to take the struggle of putting Norwegian crust on the map.
Ever heard of Anti Cimex? Well these guys sure have, and I imagine they own all of their old albums and have studied them hard. Add a dash of Skitslickers and you have Likskjit. A pummelling bass, a screechy guitar, pounding drums and a screaming vocalist.
This is an advance cd-r copy, so I don’t know if the lyrics will be included in the real thing or not. But I can tell you that the artwork is pretty cool. What surprises me though is that they’ve included the hammer and sickle on the cover, and not the ordinary circle-a like all other crust bands. This is really cool, and fans of Swedish old school crustcore will have a new act to rely on for their kicks. The only thing that disturbs me is that all five songs could’ve been jammed into side A, leaving side B available for even more tunes. Limited to 275 copies!
